I recently had a chat with Min Zhou, who joined our Drammen office in January. I asked her a couple of questions about that is has been like and her experiences so far!

So Min, you just started working for us! What are your thoughts so far?

I feel very at home already! It must be because I already know IFS Applications and some of the people since I have worked at IFS for many years. But still, some things are new, of course. Not only have I met a lot of new people, but I am also becoming familiar with a new company culture.

What do you do in Addovation?

I work as an advisor on many different projects for many different customers. These days, I am involved in an upgrade project at one of Norway’s leading drilling companies, a high-tech company and a new implementing project at Norway’s biggest timber company.

My focus is to help customers optimizing their HR processes and help them work more efficiently with IFS applications. It feels great to help customers reduce their administrative time and reduce the number of HR suppliers as IFS HR has from Hire to Retire solutions as HR admin needs.

What would you say are the greatest advantages of IFS HR compared to other systems?

With IFS Applications you get an all-in-one HR solution – from hire to retire, where you can manage the whole HR process within one system. The HR module might be perceived as complex by its administrators, as human resource management is self a comprehensive area and contains many processes, but with the proper guidance from our advisor, it is a fantastic system that will ease your HR working day by a landslide. I also have to say that it is super easy to use from an end-user perspective – which is the most important thing for the system’s success.

What is the best part of working with ERP?

I believe that ERP is the future, and when I say that, I mean that ERP will become increasingly important in the years to come. Digitization is on everybody’s lips these days, and I think we have only seen a fraction of what we will use ERP for in the future. So, it is one of these things that you know will be essential and secure jobs. We need more people that understand and can work with ERP, developing and using more advanced technology!

Addovation is growing fast, and we are looking for new employees in many areas. What would be your advice to people wanting to get a job at Addovation?

For a start, you must like ERP and work with new technology. It would help if you also enjoyed working with change management and process improvements and optimization. I mean, we work with change – and that means that you must be flexible and adaptable too! We work with different industries and different people in different environments. You should be self-driven, have good communication skills and like to work in projects.

You mentioned that you are familiarizing yourself with a new company culture. Can you describe what your thoughts are on Addovation’s company culture?  

My impression is that we have a very good working environment supported by an employee-oriented management that cares about the employees. I feel that we get the space to try new things, and time to try out different tasks and roles. In most cases, you can control your own schedule, giving you much flexibility. I would say that values such as mutual trust, respect, and openness sum up our values and company culture.
